Choose a Side Arod

David Ortiz is saying that Alex Rodriguez intends to play for the Dominican Republic for the next World Baseball Classic. In 2006 Arod chose to play for the United States, he is eligible to play for either team since his parents are Dominican. I would think the WBC would want stricter rules on eligibility but I guess not.

Remember that quote a while back from Rodriguez in the Sports Illustrated interview..."When people write [bad things] about me, I don't know if it's [because] I'm good-looking, I'm biracial, I make the most money, I play on the most popular team...."? Wow. It's those kind of quotes and his inability to make a decision that make people dislike Arod (to opt out or not to opt out), but apparantly David Ortiz doesn't mind. How can you play for the U.S. one year to play for your country, then change the next time to a different country. Arod, you can have record breaking contracts, and soon record breaking stats, but you can't have two countries.

  1. he really does just bring everything he gets on himself with stupid shit like this. he probably did tell ortiz he was going to play for the dominicans but now that the public is looking down on him for playing for two countries in 2 WBC's (which is pathetic) he will do the typical Arod thing just like when he was getting flack about the opt out situation and just play for the US to avoid anymore public humiliation. you really can't dislike the guy for the things he does on the field because he works harder than anyone but jesus alex...uve been in the spotlight enough to know what and what not to say...when will he learn?

  2. It's funny how we can bash Arod and you can't really argue against it, and we still haven't even brought up the little Madonna cheating on his wife deal. He just needs to settle down, get married to the material girl, and build a room for kevin long in his house and everything will be fine.

  3. Lots of people have 2 countries- dual citizenship.

I don't care who he plays for in the WBC as long as he knows the only team he needs any allegiance to is the Yankees.

  4. Dual citizenship shouldn't allow him to play for the United States one year, then the Dominican Republic the next and not get any sort of backlash from fans. He tries so hard to be perfect and cares alot about his image, then he does some bogus thing like this.

Arod's still a good teammate in trying his best to win for the Yankees, I'll give him that.
