Home Run Derby

These are usually fun, and watching Josh Hamilton last year was really something else, but does anyone think that someone other than Pujols will win this year? People may think that Pujols is an overall better hitter than everyone else, but that other players like Fielder or Adrian Gonzalez or Ryan Howard have more power. I'm not sure that's even true, it seems as though Pujols has more power than any of them in addition to being a significantly better hitter and player overall. Not only does Albert lead the majors in home runs, according to Hit Tracker Online, he leads the majors in no doubter home runs and has some of the longer home runs hit this year. It wouldn't surprise me to see Howard or Fielder have a round that is higher than Pujols, but you have to be consistent throughout to win these things, and nobody does that better than Albert.

By the way, remember when Bret Boone swung at missed at the home run derby? What are the chances Brandon Inge does that?

UPDATE: I admittedly did not watch this event, but congrats to Prince Fielder for the win. Will the NL's early success carry now over to the All-Star game? If you compare the starting rosters it sure looks like it will, but when Ryan Franklin is trying to get guys out in the 8th inning and Mariano, Nathan, and Papelbon are on in the late innings you get the feeling it'll be business as usual for the AL.
