I have been a guy that has said we do not need more replay, because I always felt the umpires should be held accountable. If players don't do well, they get sent to the minors or released. I think the umpires should be held to a higher standard. But watching the playoffs this year, if the umpires, this is the best that they can be, then there needs to be more instant replay. And that's difficult for me to say. If we're sending out the best there is, then we need more replay. Too many games are being effected because of mistakes.We don't want robots calling balls and strikes (well not all of us at least) and conversely we don't want to keep seeing important games effected by easily fixable blown calls. Morgan's take seems to split the difference rather well, I think I agree with him.

Joe Morgan's Thoughts on Replay
I admit, when I went to read Joe Morgan's chat on ESPN.com today I thought that there would be (a bagillion) comments to poke fun at. What I didn't expect to find was one of the more sensible things that I have heard yet on instant replay:
