| Jon Miller (left), good. Joe Morgan, bad. |
Jon Miller is one of the best play-by-play announcers in baseball--his genuine excitement comes off and it's a joy to listen to him, even as he tries to pronounce the Latin players' names. Unfortunately he's been paired with Joe Morgan since 1990 on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball who, if you didn't already know, is shall we say, not good at his job.
| Joe Theismann |
I'm not going to sit here and bash Joe Morgan, been there done that. Instead I'll mention how a lot of the old awful dinosaur analysts are starting to fade away, bettering all of our sports watching experience. In 2008 CBS (finally) let go of Bill Packer, and Joe Theismann has thankfully been removed from Prime Time going from ESPN's Sunday or Monday night coverage to Thursday nights on the NFL Network.
With Packer, Theismann and now Morgan leaving our TV sets, let's turn our attention to getting Tim McCarver off of Fox. However, if McCarver didn't lose his job after comparing the Yankees to Nazi Germany, he may have a long leash. I guess that shouldn't be a surprise on a network that seems to compare everything they don't like to Nazi Germany.
